The premiere of the Circular Initiative gathered leading industrial companies

To create circular material flows, there is a need for cooperation, concrete plans and bold goals. Stena Recycling's new sustainability event Circular Initiative gathered over 200 people, when representatives from leading industrial companies met to discuss solutions for a sustainable future.

“No one can solve these challenges on their own. The whole idea with the Circular Initiative is to raise awareness about the topic and share information and knowledge,” says Kristofer Sundsgård, CEO of Stena Recycling, who welcomed the participants and audience to Eric Ericsonhallen at Skeppsholmen in Stockholm.

Circular Initiative is an annual event for Swedish industrial companies with the aim towards develop common goals and concrete plans for circular material flows. ABB, Stora Enso, Electrolux and Combitech had experiences and visions to share during the day.

“We have reached a point where society demands that the industry takes responsibility. If you don’t engage in sustainability issues, you will lose both customers and staff – you will not survive as a company. But if you properly address these issues you will not only support global environmental goals – you will probably also do better business,” said Jacob Wallenberg, Chairman of Investor AB.
