Interest from investors was considerable when the Stena Metall Group issued its first green bond on May 23. The amount was SEK 800 million with a term of five years. The net proceeds is earmarked for sustainable investments in the Stena Nordic Recycling Center, one of Europe's most advanced and efficient recycling plants, where cars can be recycled up to 95%.
Stena Oil has signed an agreement to create a new marine fuel terminal in the Port of Frederikshavn. The facility will be fully adapted for the new Sulphur Directive 2020 and its location will reduce the distances travelled by bunkering vessels. The oil terminal will be the largest of its kind in Scandinavia, with a capacity of 75 000 cubic metres.
The Stena Nordic Recycling Center took the Waste Processor of the Year award (Årets avfallsbehandlare) at the Recycling Gala, held at Berns in Stockholm on January 25th.
Stena acquired IL Recycling AB in 2016 and, after a transition process, the company will become part of Stena Recycling AB on March 1. This strengthens the company's position as a provider of total recycling services in Sweden.
There was no mistaking the party atmosphere at the inauguration of the Stena Nordic Recycling Center, the Stena Metall Group's largest industrial investment, on October 26. The event was a great success, with around 450 guests getting to experience our state-of-the-art recycling facility, including the 95 percent recycling rate we achieve for end-of-life vehicles.
October 26 will be the grand opening of Stena Nordic Recycling Center in Halmstad. A recycling facility the size of 80 soccer pitches with modern and efficient processes, making it possible to recycle more material, primarily metals, in a sustainable way from industry, households and society in general.
Kristofer Sundsgård will take over as President of Stena Recycling on September 1st. The current President, Staffan Persson, will become Head of Business Area Recycling for the Stena Metall Group.
Stena has strengthened its position as a leader in Swedish recycling through the acquisition of IL Recycling. The Competition Authority has approved the transaction and the agreement was signed on June 30.
Stena Metall is acquiring IL Recycling, a total waste management supplier of recycling services, with operations in Sweden and Poland. Stena Metall is developing its position through its subsidiary Stena Recycling AB, a leading company in industrial recycling.
