Stena Metall signs agreement to acquire IL Recycling
Stena Metall is acquiring IL Recycling, a total waste management supplier of recycling services, with operations in Sweden and Poland. Stena Metall is developing its position through its subsidiary Stena Recycling AB, a leading company in industrial recycling.
IL Recycling, with 700 employees, is currently owned by Fiskeby Board, SCA, Smurfit Kappa and Stora Enso with a turnover of 2 billion SEK.
The acquisition will give Stena Metall, through Stena Recycling, the opportunity to expand its services, in paper recycling amongst other things, helping the company meet increasing market demand for sustainable total waste management solutions. Stena Recycling is also looking forward to becoming a reliable, long-term supplier of new raw materials to the current owners' paper mill.
- IL Recycling is a well-run recycling company. It offers a wide range of recycling services which complement Stena Recycling's business, says Staffan Persson, Managing Director of Stena Recycling AB.
The acquisition is subject to approval by the Swedish and Polish competition authorities.
