  • Life HaloSep inaugurated - a unique facility for fly ash recycling

    On November 17, Stena Metall, together with the Danish company Vestforbrænding, inaugurated the world's first full-scale HaloSep plant. The plant converts fly ash from incineration processes into useful resources such as metals and salt, as well as purified fly ash. The ash is today classified as a hazardous waste that may only be disposed of in special landfills.

  • Quayside powerbanks – The next step in the electrification of shipping

    Stena is now taking the next step in shipping electrification: the development of a new type of energy storage, similar to very large powerbanks, which will be essential for the quick charging of electric ferries in the future. The project is part-financed by the EU and will, among other things, investigate how used batteries from the transport sector can be reused for energy storage in ports.

  • Stena gives Volvo bus batteries a second life

    The commercial service lives of bus batteries are significantly extended and natural resources are conserved. That is the result of a new cooperation between Volvo Buses and Stena Recycling subsidiary Batteryloop.   • Stena Aluminium named best supplier of the year 2018

    Stena Aluminium has been named “Best Supplier of the Year 2018” by Gnutti Carlo Light Metal Division.
